EV Charger Myth Busters
According to the ABS The average KM driven per day by Australians is approx. 35km so 1 charge per week overnight in your own driveway should satisfy most users.
We recommend installing load management devices to all homes, this will allow your charger to regulate how fast it charges your car depending on how much power your house is using, alternatively most EVs have inbuilt software that allows users to program what time of day to start charging, so it can charge whilst you sleep when power consumption is at its lowest.
A fuel efficient ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) vehicle uses approx. 7 Litres per 100Km @ $1.90 per litre this will cost $13.30 per 100km An average EV will consume approx. 15kwh per 100km, based off an average cost of 30c per KwH it would cost $4.50 to travel 100km, Approx 1/3 the cost of fuelling an ICE vehicle.
